SEE-Change, the SEE standing for Society, Economy and the Environment, is a project of the Nature and Society Forum (www.natsoc.org.au)
SEE Change was launched in August 2006 following the publication of a small booklet and dissemination of the findings of a roundtable of ACT leaders who met in June 2006 to consider the need for a new kind of institution in Australian life.
The booklet, entitled SEE-Change Centres Grey Power and Hope by Bob Douglas who chairs the SEE-Change Steering Group, can be downloaded here or purchased online. The contains a report of the roundtable.
SEE-Change is a fledgling movement, and is not an advocacy or lobbying group. However a vital part of our aim is to nurture and develop skills in communities so that people can inform themselves and act to express their voice effectively.
SEE-Change aims to facilitate communities finding their own voice, but doesn't seek to be that voice. Similarly, SEE-Change does not actively endorse any particular commercial service providers or products, though we may invite organisations at times to showcase their products and services for community information.
