SOS Orphanage

The SOS Orphanage in Bangkok supports approximately 120 children ranging in age from small babies to young adults.  The Orphanage relies on funding from sponsors from around the world to help feed, cloth and raise the children.

The children are great kids, well behaved and very respectful - but they need the opportunity for a good future. They need a good education and to understand the difficulties of life and how to survive after they leave the protection of the orphanage.

There are 12 homes in the orphanage each with up to 10 children. There is one house mother for each house and she is mother and father to all the kids in the house - 24 hours a day for all days of the year - No holidays.

Because funds are limited the children don't get the opportunities that you might take for granted in normal family life:  Like going to movies, going to adventure parks or camping, going the beach or visiting special places.

All their cloths are from donations and they rely on sponsors to provide them with small savings and tertiary education.

We visit the orphanage each year and do something for the children each time depending on their need or experiences that they haven't yet had.  Last year we donated a new computer. We also took them on a trip to an adventure park.  We cook for them or take them out for dinner and importantly have the opportunity to play with them in the safety of their own garden and homes.
