Project Beneficiaries
The project aims to:
* raise community awareness of local food and other sustainability issues;
* advocate for consumers to support local producers and businesses committed to sustainability and be more conscious about food and sustainability;
* strengthen networks between producers, retailers and consumers to cultivate sustainable communities; and
* raise funds to support strengthened connections within and between communities for sustainability.
Funds raised from the event will go to support three not for profit projects committed to sustainability:
1. Mahboba's Promise: Funds will be used to support permaculture, orchards and livelihood projects for women and childrens groups in Afghanistan.
2. Canberra Environment and Sustainability Resource Centre: Funds will be specifically utilised to support the Centre's Community Gardens Initiative.
3. Women's Community Partnership Scholarships: Funds will provide small grants to women wishing to undertake a community partnership project.
